This policy covers the Jargon Demystified Translator (JDT) browser extension and this website. The short version: JDT does not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
What the extension does with web pages
JDT reads the text of the pages you visit only to find glossary terms and underline them. That happens entirely inside your browser, using a dictionary that ships with the extension. Page contents, browsing history, and the terms you hover over are never sent anywhere or stored by us.
What the extension stores
Your settings (which topics are switched on, your plan, and your license key if you bought one) are saved in your browser's own extension storage on your device. We cannot see them. Uninstalling JDT removes them.
License keys
If you buy Pro or Premium, the extension sends your license key once to our payment provider, Freemius, to confirm it is valid, and may re-check it occasionally. Only the key, a random device ID, and a device label are sent — no page content or browsing data.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Freemius, which acts as the seller (merchant of record) for JDT orders. Freemius collects your name, email, billing details, and payment information to complete the purchase, send your receipt and license key, and handle taxes and refunds. We receive your name, email, and order details so we can support your purchase; we never see your full card number. Freemius's own privacy policy applies to the data it handles.
This website
This site has no accounts, sign-ups, analytics, or advertising trackers. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. Its fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
Children
JDT is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

By installing or using the Jargon Demystified Translator (JDT) extension or buying a Pro or Premium unlock, you agree to these terms.
What JDT is — and isn't
JDT is a glossary tool. Its definitions explain what a term generally means. They are not legal, financial, medical, insurance, tax, or any other professional advice, and they don't say whether a price, clause, diagnosis, or decision is fair, correct, or right for you. Definitions are written with care but may be incomplete, simplified, or out of date. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional.
Free, Pro, and Premium
- The Free tier is free to use with no purchase or account.
- Pro ($5.99) and Premium ($10.99) are one-time purchases — not subscriptions — that unlock additional topics using a license key.
- Your license is for your own personal use. Please don't share, resell, or publish your key. Keys that are shared publicly or used abusively may be deactivated.
- Prices shown may exclude sales tax or VAT, which is calculated at checkout.
Payments
Orders are processed by Freemius, our merchant of record, which handles payment, receipts, and applicable taxes. Freemius's buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
Refunds
If JDT isn't right for you, email bgmediaservicesapp@yahoo.com within 14 days of purchase with your order email or order number, and you'll get a full refund — no questions asked. Refunds go back to your original payment method, and the license key for that order is deactivated. After 14 days, purchases are generally non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
Updates and availability
We may update JDT's definitions and features over time. The software is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We aren't liable for decisions made based on its definitions or for indirect or consequential losses; in any case, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for JDT.
